The incident
At a test center in Kerala, about 100 female students claimed they had been searched before taking the medical entrance exam and asked them to take off their bras. The students said that because their underwear had “hooks” in them, the metal detection center asked them to take off their bras. The incident happened at the Kollam exam center. A 17-year-old filed a complaint with the police inspector on July 18, who brought it to light.
According to the NEET 2022 dress code, students are not allowed to wear metal clothing or accessories during the exam as a preventive measure against cheating. The exam notice warns students not to wear belts, but does not refer to undergarments. In this case, female staff of a third-party company outsourced by NTA was arrested to work at the exam center.
