The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) has withdrawn the preliminary results of the 2021 National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) counseling stray vacancy round due to offline admission of candidates by some colleges.
“After the publication of the preliminary result of the stray vacancy round, it was brought to the attention of the DGHS MCC that some colleges had taken their assigned candidates offline or re-initialized the admission of candidates who made their admission. † As a result, the candidates were listed as ‘Not Reported’ in the Mop Up Round and their seats were returned to the system for allocation in the Stray Vacancy Round of PG Counseling 2021,” the MCC notification reads. It added: “In order to correct the problem caused by an error of institutes, the preliminary result of PG Counseling 2021 is withdrawn.”
On April 30, MCC had issued a notice regarding all medical college admissions that had to be done online. “All colleges or institutes are advised to ensure that the admissions of candidates assigned to their respective colleges are made ‘online’ (on intramcc portal) and letters of admission are generated through intramcc portal.” It added: “Admissions taken in offline mode and admission letters not generated through the intramcc portal will be considered ‘Null & Void’. Candidates should also ensure that their admission letters are generated online through the portal that is offered by MCC to universities of applied sciences.’
The MCC will reprocess the seats for the stray vacancy round after deleting the offline reported seats and a new tentative allotment result will be announced. The final result of the stray vacancy round will be published on 2 May. The reporting deadline for this round has been extended to 7 May at 5 PM.
The notice recommended candidates to regularly visit MCC’s official website for new updates and more information about the mentoring and admission process.
