NEET was held twice this year. The exam took place for the first time on 17 July. On exam day, a large number of female students were asked to take off their bras before entering the exam halls. After investigation, the affected students were allowed to reappear for the exam to make up for the suffering caused. In total, 18.7 lakh students across the country have applied for NEET 2022.
It was also the first time that the age limit for applying for medical admission was lifted. This may make the competition stronger. Experts already think the cut-off score will rise. The pass marks – 50th percentile – can go up to 150 points. Last year, the 50th percentile score for the category unconditionally was over 138 points. This was down from 147 in 2020 and 134 in 2019. To be admitted to top colleges, the limit is predicted to be around 600 points.
