The National Testing Agency (NTA) successfully conducted the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) on May 7 this year. More than 2 lakh candidates are currently waiting for the examination body to release the NEET UG 2023 answer keys. According to reports, the preliminary answer key of NEET UG 2023 is expected to be released soon on the NTA NEET official website at neet.nta.nic.in. Together with the answer key, NTA issues the answer sheet and the question paper for the medical entrance test. Students are also given a certain amount of time to object, if necessary, to the NEET RUG answer key.
Once the objections have been reviewed by subject matter experts, the final answer key and NEET UG result will be announced by the NTA. After that, the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) will release the counseling schedule based on which admissions will be granted according to NEET ranks.
NEET UG 2023 Counseling Process
To apply for NEET UG counseling, general category students must score at least 50th percentile, while ST/SC and OBC candidates must score in 40th percentile. It is important to note that the National Testing Agency prepares the merit list for 15 percent All India Quota (AIQ) counseling by using the NEET UG results. The Agency also provides details of qualified students from each state to the respective authorities, as part of the 85 percent state quota counseling.
MCC will conduct NEET UG 2023 counseling for 15 percent AIQ seats in government dental and medical colleges in India. Through this NEET UG counseling, approximately 100 percent of the seats will be allocated to assumed or central universities, AIIMS, JIPMER, ESIC/AFMS and for BSc nursing courses.

The NEET RUG guidance process takes place in four rounds, namely round 1, round 2, clean-up round and a stray vacancy round. Students must first register to participate in the counseling process, after which they must fill in the preferred choices of programs and colleges.
