NEET RUG 2025: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) for undergraduate courses in 2025 (NEET UG 2025) will be held in one shift in one day, in pen and paper mode (OMR-based ).
In November 2024, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan hinted that NEET-UG would become a computer-based test (CBT), shifting from the traditional paper format. However, now the NTA has confirmed that the NEET UG 2025 exam will be conducted in pen and paper mode.
“As decided by the National Medical Commission (NMC), the NEET-UG will be conducted in pen-and-paper mode (based on OMR) in one day and shifts,” said a senior National Testing Agency official ( NTA), reported PTI.
The proposal to shift NEET to a Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode is not new and has been discussed several times in the past. The push to implement Computer Based Tests (CBT) gained momentum after the paper leak controversy last year.
NEET UG 2025 exam date
The NTA has not given any official confirmation on when the NEET exam would be conducted. However, based on last year's trends, NEET UG 2025 is likely to be held in the first week of May.

The NTA has further urged candidates to use their APAAR ID and Aadhaar-based authentication during the application and exam process for NEET UG 2025.
