Union Minister Subhas Sarkar said on Saturday that the new national education policy will make students self-reliant and help build a prosperous India. He spoke here as the main guest at a seminar on ‘National Education Policy, Innovation and Research’ organized by Mahatma Gandhi International Hindi University (MGIHU).
“We are also in the process of translating the syllabus as part of this education policy. We are trying to make education available in local and Indian or bilingual languages,” said the education minister.
He praised the ancient method of teaching in the country, which grew over thousands of years, and said that the thoughts and works of scholars like Charak, Sushruta, Aryabhatta, Varahmihira, Maitreyi, Gargi etc. should be incorporated into the current curriculum .
