NIRF Rankings 2024: Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday unveiled the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024 rankings at Bharat Mandapam. Similar to last year's rankings, AIIMS Delhi has retained the top spot for best medical colleges in India. PGI Chandigarh and Vellore's Christian Medical College have been ranked 2nd and 3rd.
As for dental colleges, Saveetha Institue of Medical and Technical Sciences, Chennai has secured the highest ranking. While Jamia Hamdard from New Delhi is number one for pharmacy.

What is NIRF ranking?
The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) was approved by the MHRD and launched by the Minister of Human Resource Development on September 29, 2015. This framework outlines a methodology to rank institutions across the country.
The higher education institutions are divided into 13 categories: general, universities, medicine, engineering, management, law, architecture, colleges, research institutions, pharmacy, dentistry, agriculture and related sectors, and innovation.
NIRF Ranking 2024: Weighting assigned to each parameter
Teaching, learning and resources, as well as research and professional practice, each receive 30 percent of the weighting. Graduation results count for 20 percent, and education, inclusion and perception count for 10 percent.
