The pro-chancellor Dr RS Bawa of Chandigarh University admittedly denied the reports of MMS or offensive videos being circulated, saying that “no videos have been found of a student who is objectionable.” However, he has claimed that the suspect only made her own video to send to her boyfriend.
In an official statement, Dr. Bawa said: “There is a rumor circulating in the media that 60 offensive MMS have been found from various students. This is completely false and unfounded. During the preliminary investigation of the university, no videos were found of students being offensive. , except for a personal video made by a girl and shared by herself with her boyfriend.
Mohali SP also said earlier today that only one video of the accused himself has been found, but the devices have been submitted for forensic examination and the allegation that other girls were videotaped is still under investigation by police.

“All the rumors of offensive videos made of other students are totally false and unfounded,” the university said, claiming that the administration “voluntarily conducted the further investigation with the Punjab Police, who detained a girl and sent a FIR has filed under IT Act”.
All cell phones and other equipment have been handed over to the police for further investigation, Chandigarh University claims it is fully cooperating with the police in the investigation. “It is further clarified that the university is fully committed and competent to ensure the safety and security of all our students, especially our daughter-like girl students.” said the varsity.
The pro-chancellor also stated that reports of victims committing suicide are unfounded. “The fact is that no girl has taken such a step. No girl was hospitalized in the incident.”
Students claim they caught the girl in the act and then exposed the matter to the principal who then allegedly mishandled the case. Incendiary girls have also accused the university administration of suppressing the case rather than taking action, leading many of them to protest outside the university.
