Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) has invited applications for the position of Assistant Legal Counsel. Candidates will be selected based on their CLAT 2022 LLM scores. Markings from previous CLATs are not valid. Interested and eligible candidates can apply through the official portal at ongcindia.com, once the forms are released. CLAT 2022 online application closes on March 31 and the exam is scheduled for May 8.
“ONGC will publish another advertisement inviting applications from eligible candidates who have appeared for the CLAT-2022 exam. The exact date and period of Go Live of the online application registration site will be announced in due course through a notice on the website of ONGC (www.ongcindia.com). Candidates should visit www.ongcindia.com regularly to get updates,” the official statement read.

Educational Qualification: Applicants wishing to apply must have a Law Degree (Professional) with a minimum of 60 percent points. Students in the final semester of the qualifying course can also apply. However, they must be able to produce a grade sheet and certificate of course completion with a minimum of 60 percent of grades on or before July 31. Those who are lawyers with 3 years of experience are preferred, the official statement said.
Age Limit: The maximum age limit for the unconditional and EWS candidates is 30 years, while for SC it is 35 years.
ONGC Recruitment 2022: Selection Process
Candidates will be considered based on the CLAT 2022 score for LLM according to the criteria established by the ONGC management for the further selection process provided the applicant meets the eligibility criteria regarding age, qualification etc.
The calculation of the percentage of points in the qualifying degree will be according to university rules. “Wherever CGPA/ OGPA/ CPI/ DGPA or letter grade in degree is awarded, an equivalent percentage of grades will be considered according to the standards adopted by the relevant university/institute. If university/institute does not have the facility to convert CGPA/ OGPA/ CPI/ DGPA or letter grade in percentage, equivalence will be determined by dividing the candidate’s relative grade by the maximum possible corresponding scale and the result multiply by 100,” the official message reads.
ONGC Recruitment 2022: Salary
The candidates selected for the positions will be paid salary between Rs 60,000 and Rs 1.80,000 with an increase of three percent per annum.
