The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB), Mohali released the 5th grade exam results on Friday. Students who appeared for the exam can check their score at pseb.ac.in. The results were announced virtually via a zoom meeting. of the 3,19,086 students appearing for the exam, a whopping 3,17,728 managed to pass the exam. The pass rate for Punjab Board class 5 result is 99.57 percent.
The success rate this year is the lowest in the past three years. In 2020 no less than 99.83 percent of students had passed the exam, while in 2021 the number of students in class 5 taking the exam went to 99.76 percent, while this year 99.57 percent of the children passed.
Sukhman Kaur of Silver Vatika Convent School, Dharamkot in Mansa has surpassed the exam by scoring full 100 percentage points. She shares her rank with Rajeev and aSahijpreet Kaur of Kapurthala Government School – both have scored 500 out of 500 points.
While the results were announced today, the numbers will be available on the website pseb.ac.in and indiareslt.com beginning May 7 at 10 a.m.
Though pass rate was high for Punjab Board result. Girls generally perform slightly better than boys. Not only the first place is achieved by a female student, but also among girls who have taken the board exam, no less than 99.63 were passed. This is above the overall success rate of 99.57 percent. Despite a high rate of 99.52 percent, the percentage of boys taking the exam was slightly lower than that of girls.
As for school, in member schools a whopping 99.73 percent of students who took the exam passed. The pass rate in the associated school has dropped by 99.53 percent and the supported schools had 99.08 percent of their students cracking the exam. Of the students in government schools, 99.55 percent of the students will progress to class 6.
