The program is being introduced by the Shiv Nadar School of Engineering in line with the growing demands for such professionals in industry and academia, the varsity said. The program gives students a head start on adapting to an ever-changing ecosystem anchored in technology, it says.
The specialized nature of the degree will provide skills to meet the needs of electrical and computer engineering industries, from artificial intelligence in healthcare to the manufacture of driverless vehicles, automobiles and more, it said. “Students will be exposed to forward-thinking concepts and solutions for tomorrow’s worlds and practical, experiential learning opportunities, along with international exchange programs with leading institutions. The School of Engineering at Shiv Nadar University, Delhi-NCR also offers students the opportunity to collaborate with major technology companies on industry-initiated projects,” the university said.

“This latest offering in electrical and computer engineering is a testament to the flexible and rigorous process we follow. The advent of computer technology has led to a fundamental shift in electrical and electronic equipment design, where low-cost microprocessors/microcontrollers are embedded in a system that performs specific functions. A lot of effort has gone into making this essential integration of the curriculum with the times. This curriculum is very different from the Computer Science program we already offer,” said Dr. Rupamanjari Ghosh, Vice Chancellor of Shiv Nadar University, Delhi-NCR.
“This new program addresses the emerging trend in industry and research where computer engineering knowledge is becoming essential for electrical engineers, with the use of the latest hardware and software analysis tools being some of the key features of this program. It also allows a student to exercise more options in terms of specialization in electives rather than having to commit prematurely to one of the two streams defined by the two different BTech programs,” Dr. Sandeep Sen , Dean, School of Engineering, Shiv Nadar University, Delhi-NCR.
