Police said there were several outsiders on campus who got into a fight after the stabbing incident
A student was stabbed to death on the campus of Panjabi University on Monday after an argument, police said.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Varun Sharma said the student has been identified as Navjot Singh (20), a sixth semester student, from Sangatpur village near Nabha in this district. He was a computer science student.
Sharma said there were several outsiders on campus who got into a fight after the stabbing incident.
Police said Sharma suffered multiple injuries and was taken to a pharmacy.
“They transferred him to Rajindra Hospital because the stab wounds had resulted in massive blood loss. He died during treatment,” the SSP said.
Sharma said the university has submitted CCTV footage of the incident to police.
Officials said the student was a scholar.
