FTII authorities told the association that many candidates in the reserved category failed to meet the cut-off rate
A student association claimed Friday that the seats reserved for OBC, SC and ST categories had not been filled in admitting students to the Film And Television Institute of India (FTII) for the 2021 academic year. Also members of the Students Association of FTII protested on campus against the “crass mockery of reservations” at the country’s main film and television training institute.
The FTII published its final merit list for the academic year 2021 on July 26, 2022, the association said in a press release. The admission procedure was delayed by a year, according to a student. “Many seats, as well as waiting list positions in the OBC, SC and ST categories, have not been filled due to reasons of unfitness,” the association claimed.

The FTII director’s office has not responded to a request for comment on the allegations.
