India’s largest technology giant – Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) – is set to hire 40,000 people in fiscal year 2022-23, the company said during an announcement of its results on Thursday. Despite the economic slump caused by the pandemic, the technology giant hired 40,165 employees in the IT domain in 2021.
TCS, which released its results, said the organization had hired a net 35,209 employees in the quarter ended March 31 of this year, the highest net increase ever in a quarter.

The company added one lakh of campus freshmen in FY22 against its stated target of 40,000. TCS went on to say that it has also set a similar target of 40,000 for FY23.
Rajesh Gopinathan, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, TCS, said: “We have significantly increased the company’s revenue in line with its current 2022 target.” The number of employees at TCS is 5,92,125.
Currently, TCS is recruiting in the TCS Atlas Hiring category, which is for MSc and MA graduates of the year 2020, 2021 and 2022. To be selected, candidates are required to pass a test and interview. Entries open at tcs.com and close on April 20.
Meanwhile, TCS’ digital recruiting campaign, under which the tech giant is hiring novices from various streams, including BE, BTech, ME, MTech, MCA and MSc, ends today.
Not only TCS, top tech giants including Infosys are planning to enter service this year. Software giant Infosys told reporters in a news conference after its Q4 earnings announcement on Thursday that it had hired 85,000 fresh produce — both off-campus and on-campus — in its financial year ending March 31, 2022. that it will take 50,000 fresh this year as well.
Leading IT companies including TCS, Infosys, Wipro, HCL, Cognizant and Capgemini are planning to hire thousands of new employees this year and the experts predict the number could reach 3 lakhs this year.
