The university has so far returned a total of seven students in the case and expelled 18 others.
The institute said in its order that at a meeting on Thursday, the anti-hazing committee snatched a student pursuing his master’s degree in mathematics and banned him from admission to any institution for three years in connection with the incident.
Two other students from the BCA and BEd departments were detained for a year, the warrant said.
Four others were detained three years earlier, while 18 others were deported in connection with the kidnapping of M Com freshman Anand Sharma.
Seven students from the institute have already been arrested for their alleged involvement in the incident.
Three guards at the ‘Padmanath Gohain Baruah Chatra Nivas’ (hostel) where the alleged theft took place were also suspended by the university authorities for dereliction of duty.
Anand was allegedly brutally tortured during the raids that took place on November 26 and was forced to jump from the second floor of the hostel to save herself.
After the fall, he suffered a spinal fracture that led to severe nerve damage that caused weakness in one of his legs. He also suffered a fracture in his hand and had to be admitted to the ICU. On Dec. 1, he underwent complex surgery and is now on the road to recovery, doctors who assisted him said.
