Two persons allegedly involved in leaking the examination paper of Gujarat panchayat junior clerk were detained from Kolkata in West Bengal and brought here on Friday, bringing the total number of arrests in the case to 19, an official said.
The exam, scheduled for January 29, was postponed after the leak came to light following a raid by the Gujarat Anti Terrorist Squad on a computer center in Vadodara at around 1:30 am that day. Fifteen people were then detained.
According to the ATS, the two, who are natives of Bihar and currently live in Vadodara, are the main protagonists in the case.
While 15 persons were detained during the raid on the computer centre, an employee of a printing press in Telangana, Hyderabad, who was contracted by the Gujarat government to print the exam papers, was detained shortly afterwards. The seventeenth suspect was detained in Odisha. According to the police, most of the suspects are engaged in educational advice.
