A 20 percent grant will be given to unsupported private primary, secondary and senior secondary schools in Maharashtra, Education Minister Deepak Kesarkar told the Legislative Council here on Thursday.
The cabinet has approved the decision and the necessary circular will be issued next month, he added, responding to a question from Vikram Kale.
For years there were no grants for unaided schools, but the government has now decided to give a 20 percent grant to eligible schools and an additional 20 percent grant to those already receiving grants, he said.
