The University of Jammu has taken steps to introduce students to the rich heritage of India with the Panch Pran Utsav lectures and cultural heritage exhibitions
The University of Jammu will host a three-day mega-festival “Panch Pran” around the five resolutions announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his Independence Day speech last year.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will open the festival on April 5.
The University of Jammu in conjunction with Indira Gandhi National Center for Arts, Hindustan Samachar and Cluster University of Jammu is organizing a three-day mega event on the Five Resolutions (Panch Pran) announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji during his 76th Independence Day address to the nation,” Vice Chancellor Prof. Umesh Rai told reporters here.
Prof Rai said the festival will be held from April 5 to 7 at the University of Jammu in line with the Prime Minister’s vision of “Panch Pran”.
Speaking at a curtain ceremony, Prof. Rai said the celebration will focus on the five resolutions announced by the prime minister: making India a developed country; remove any trace of the colonial mentality; be proud of our legacy; our power of unity; and fulfilling the duties of citizens, including the Prime Minister and Prime Ministers.
The VC said that the University of Jammu has already taken initiatives to introduce the students to the rich heritage of India.
The event includes the lectures by the prominent experts, presentations of documentaries and exhibition of cultural heritage. The Panch Pran Utsav will be inaugurated by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Ajay Kumar Singh, Press Secretary to the President of India will deliver the keynote address on April 5,” he said.
He said the university has recently introduced new job-oriented academic programs to further strengthen research. Financial support in the form of research grants and start-up grants is also provided to the university’s faculty.
