The government of Uttar Pradesh extended the closure of the school again on Thursday. According to the latest announcement, all schools in the state will remain closed for physical classes until February 15. Meanwhile, online classes continue as usual in view of the upcoming Secondary Board exams announced by Uttar Pradesh Additional Secretary Avnish Kumar Awasthi.
The secretary of the addition said in his statement that the online classes will continue due to the UP board’s upcoming exams. Also, the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) is expected to conduct UP Class 10, 12 board exams after March 10, 2022 as the state will vote in seven stages from February 10 to March 7, 2022.

The state government had previously ordered all schools and colleges to be closed from January 16 to January 23, which was then extended to January 30. In the statement, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had said that given the changing circumstances and the increasing number of COVID-19 cases, all schools and universities have been ordered to remain closed until January 23. Adityanath had also said that the curfew from 10 p.m. to 6 p.m. should be strictly enforced, the statement said. Now the extension has been extended further.
The school closure in the United States comes at a time when many states in the country are mulling over reopening schools, as officials and parents argue that continued school closures are leading to learning loss among students.
