The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducted the Combined Defense Services Examination (CDS) 1 2022 exam in three shifts on Sunday, April 10. The CDS 1 exam is taken for admission into the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), and Air Force Academy (AFA). Candidates who applied for Officers Training Academy (OTA) are not required to take the Mathematics paper.
Candidates appearing in UPSC CDS 1 said the overall difficulty of the exam was moderate, leading news reported daily. The exam consisted of 300 questions, 100 each in each section. Although the difficulty of the English and General Knowledge papers was moderate, candidates suggested that the Basic Mathematics paper was heavy.

UPSC CDS 1 Expected Closing
Based on the level of difficulty, the closing of the UPSC CDS 1 exam 2022 for Air Force Academy admission is expected to be close to 132-135 points. For Indian Military Academy and Indian Naval Academy, the minimum required grades will likely be between 118-221 and 109-112 respectively.
The qualification marks for Officers Training Academy can be between 81 and 84 points for both male and female applicants. If the predictions come true, the cut-off this year will be lower than last year.
The exam started with an English paper in the morning shift from 9am to 11am, the UPSC CDS 1 exam 2022 included a general knowledge paper in the second shift from 12pm to 2pm and an elementary math paper in the evening lock, 3am to 5pm o’clock.

The UPSC CDS 1 exam contains only objective questions. Candidates receive one grade for each correct answer, while wrong attempts yield a negative rating of a third.
Candidates who pass the written exam will then be invited for an interview with the Services Selection Board (SSB), which will take place in two stages. The final round of the selection process involves a medical examination of the candidates in a military hospital, after which the final merit list is released.
