The minimum overall grade to pass the WB Board Exam is 272. To pass the First Division, candidates must achieve a minimum of 480 points. Those who achieve grades above 360 will be awarded a second division, while grades above 272 will be marked as third division. Those who have not achieved the minimum qualification marks must appear for the supplementary exam. While those who fail more than two subjects have to retake the year.
Last year, the WBCHSE had to cancel the written exam and prepare the list of marks based on a different evaluation process. It was prepared based on the 40:60 formula where 40 percent weight was given to the best of four subjects in the Madhyamik exam held for the 2019 batch while 60 percent was given to the class 11 annual exam that was taken in 2020. In 2021 all students have been declared successful.
