While a massive cold snap has gripped parts of northern India, schools have been closed in many states. In such a situation, children and the elderly suffer the most from the cold. As a precaution, many states’ education departments have issued orders to keep schools closed.

Delhi
Delhi Directorate of Education has issued a circular stating that all schools in Delhi should be closed from January 1 to 15. During this time, all schools from grades 1 to 8 will remain closed. At the same time, provisions have been made in the circular so that the studies of class 9 to class 12 are not affected.
Haryana
Haryana Education Minister Kanwarpal Gurjar has announced the closure of government schools in the state from January 1 to 15. He says that due to the increasing outbreak of cold, there is fog in the morning, causing fear of accidents. Therefore, the state has decided to keep the state’s schools closed until January 15.
Bihar
The government of Bihar has also declared a public holiday in state government schools from December 26 to 31 due to the cold. It has also been said that if weather conditions do not improve, the holiday period could be extended even further.

punjab
The Punjab government has also announced the closure of public schools. The state government has ordered all schools in the state to remain closed until January 1, 2023. Given the increasing cold in the state, the government has taken this decision. All government and private schools under the state will have to follow this rule.
Madhya Pradesh
Given the increasing cold in the state, the government of Madhya Pradesh has also decided to close all schools in the state. Due to the cold, the government of Madhya Pradesh has announced the closure of schools from December 25 to 31.
Chhattisgarh
The weather is getting colder in Chhattisgarh. In view of this, the Chhattisgarh government has announced holidays in all schools of the state. Beginning December 28, all schools in the state will be on vacation.
Uttar Pradesh
Given the severe cold snap underway in the country, UP, like many states, has also closed schools. Due to the cold snap, schools in 7 districts, including Meerut, Bareilly and Aligarh, will remain closed from December 26 to January 1. At the same time, the school will remain open for students from grades 9 to 12. In addition, there will be a change in time from grade 9 to grade 12. For students from 9 to 12, the school will only open from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Rajasthan
In view of the severe cold, it has been decided to close the schools of Rajasthan. Considering the problems caused by the cold in the state, a 12-day winter holiday has been declared in the schools of Rajasthan. Schools in Rajasthan will be having winter holidays from December 25. This holiday lasts until January 5. The Rajasthan board has extended the winter holidays for the students.
Jammu and Kashmir
The snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir has disrupted life, starting winter holidays in all schools of Jammu and Kashmir. From December 26, a 10-day winter holiday has been announced here. This holiday lasts until January 4.
