Meditation helps me center myself. One of my mentors told me about it and I started last October. With this I help myself out of trouble and all the problems I face – it’s about realigning, reorienting and refreshing my body, mind, soul and spirit. When I meditate, I like to listen to soothing music and surround myself with plants and flowers. So far I’ve only done it indoors, but I’d like to have an outdoor session at some point.
There can be many ideas and opinions going on in my life at the same time, so it is important that I meditate before everything so that I know that my vision is clear. This practice – of relieving palo santo, of sitting still – has also grown me as a person; through this I discovered my goal, which is to inspire and empower women. Once I reached this deeper sense of self, it sparked my interest and passion for music. Now I know why I’m here.
Since musicians work in such chaotic environments, I have to take care not to act erratic and impulsive. I’m just taking my time. Impatient. I want to make sure that what I’m doing has an intention. We all respond to energy – it has an effect on our bodies.

When I meditate, I like to visualize: I have manifested a lot of what has happened in my life. Before I learned to meditate, I wrote down ideas or made a vision board, and everything came true. I feel that meditation only enhances that superpower.
If I could go back, I would have started when I was young. My children will certainly meditate.
