By the time Idan Chabasov takes center stage in Temple Emanu-El’s Streicker Center, Passover is over and it’s time to talk about bread again. Mr. Chabasov, whose background is Sephardi, only learned to appreciate the traditional plaited bread as an adult in Berlin. He is now known as the “challah prince” thanks to his baroque creations posted on Instagram. On Monday at 6pm he will discuss and demonstrate with Shannon Sarna, a cookbook author. On May 12 at the Streicker Center on the Upper East Side, the topic will be the Zabar family and shops.
Idan Chabasov is the Challah Prince, April 25 at 6pm, in person and virtual, free with registration, Streicker Center, 1 East 65th Street, streicker.nyc.
