Our life is filled with various milestones, which allow us to reflect on important events. Whether it’s reaching a certain age, landing the first job, or getting married, we all have things on our bucket list that we’d like to achieve before the milestone stages of life. Turning 30 is a big deal for many people, as it marks the end of youth for them, while others see it as the beginning of adulthood.
While moving into a new chapter of life comes with certain fears, a 29-year-old San Francisco man has decided to do something worthwhile before he turns 30. According to a report by Abc7 Newsa man named Bryan Tsiliacos has embarked on a mission to do 30 acts of kindness before his 30th birthday in February.
“I took out a piece of paper and started writing down all the things I was thankful for. And that’s when I realized that everything beautiful that has happened to me is due to the support and generosity of others,” the San Francisco resident said. Francisco told the outlet.
He also runs an Instagram page called “30 Acts of Kindness by 30” where he documents his journey to help people.
For his first act, he made 400 desserts for firefighters.
He then had 18 companies donate $12,000 in school supplies and made 150 kits for high school students.
In his third act of kindness, Mr. Tsiliacos individually 118 care boxes and delivered them by hand to animal shelter staff.
According to Kron4 News, Mr. Tsiliacos was prompted to put together the products for grooming boxes after seeing the spike in animal adoptions during the pandemic. He also learned that shelter workers are five times more likely to develop PTSD.
“Acts of kindness like this let us know that we are not invisible, that there are people out there who really care about our community,” said Westlake Middle School principal Maya Taylor in Oakland. Abc7 News.
Mr Tsiliacos noted that his goal is to put a smile on their faces and inspire others to give back in their own way. Through his Instagram account, he hopes others will see them and be inspired to give something back as well.
