There are different stories of surrogacy on different social media platforms. In one such incident, a mother became a surrogate mother and gave birth to her son and daughter-in-law’s baby in Utah, United States, according to a report in People. The man-woman duo didn’t have many options after the woman had to undergo a hysterectomy, a surgical procedure to remove all or part of the uterus, the outlet said.
When Jeff Hauck’s 56-year-old mother Nancy Hauck offered the option to serve as a surrogate for him and his wife Cambria, he didn’t take it as an opportunity. However, it worked out for the family and the 56-year-old gave birth to the couple’s fifth child – a daughter, the outlet further reported.
Mr. Hauck, a web developer, called the whole experience “a beautiful moment.” “How many people can watch their mother give birth?” he told People.
The 56-year-old is also reported to have been in labor for nine hours, calling it “a remarkable and spiritual experience” to share as a family. According to the People report, Mrs. Nancy Hauck faces new emotions about having a baby, but not about taking the baby home.
She told the outlet, “It’s a mix of deep gratitude and some sadness from the divorce.”
As a tribute to the baby’s grandmother, the little girl has been given the name Hannah. Mr. Hauck added that his mother woke up in the middle of the night and heard a voice say, “My name is Hannah.”
The grandmother, who works at Utah Tech University, was confident that the baby would be a girl, even without testing.

According to the paper, Dr. Russell Foulk that while it’s “unusual for a mother to carry her grandchild, age really isn’t the limiting factor”. “Really, it goes to health, goes to that person’s state of health,” he explains.
