A 52-year-old TikToker in the US has sparked laughter online after revealing she swallowed her husband’s Apple AirPod Pro and mistook it for vitamins. New York Post reported. The unfortunate but hilarious incident happened when real estate agent Tanna Barker was taking a morning walk with her friend. Engrossed in the conversation, she went to take her vitamins and accidentally swallowed her husband’s left AirPod Pro with a drink. Insider reported.
”Halfway through my walk I decided to take my vitamins, so I put my vitamins in, had a drink and thought, ‘Man, they’re stuck.’ So I downed my water, said goodbye to Kathleen and went to get my AirPod with my pills in my hand,” she said.
”I felt it going so slowly… I thought, ‘Oh my God, I can’t believe I just did that.’ I have an AirPod in me now,” she added.
When she came home and told her husband about the embarrassing accident, he asked her not to tell anyone about it. However, she decided to share the incident with her TikTok followers.
Her video quickly went viral, with many users interested and fascinated by her story.
One person said: “When you get it back it will be an ipod.” “I imagine your friend watching you casually eat your AirPod,” another person wrote.
After taking the device, she contacted numerous doctors and friends for advice, who advised her to let the AirPod pass through her system naturally.
“Almost all of them said to let it pass naturally, and that should be fine, because the battery is encased. One of them asked if I had swallowed them both [AirPods,] and I said no. And he said, ‘Well, that’s good because there’s a magnet in there and that could have caused a problem,'” Ms. Barker told Insider.
On Monday, she posted a follow-up video informing her followers that the AirPod had safely left her system.
“One of the hashtags [on the original video] was #ThisTooShallPass. And that is true. It was such an amazing experience and such a wild ride, and I’m so grateful that I was able to protect my mentality,” she said in the video.
