The Artificial Intelligence (AI) trend has taken over social media platforms and has become the latest viral craze. Now jumping on the trend, Twitter user Miles shared some images generated by AI platform Midjourney, which showed normal but creepy photos of people, who clearly don’t exist, attending a house party.
“Midjourney is going to be insanely powerful – none of these are real photos and none of the people in them exist,” Miles wrote in the caption of his post.

The images seem to depict fun, candid moments at a house party. It shows realistic looking faces of people and at first the pictures seem legit too. However, upon closer inspection, one can find missing and insensitive body parts of the partygoers that do not exist in the real world.
In one of the photos, where two young women pose for a photo with a digital camera, the woman taking the photo has what appears to be a deformed hand. Another image of two women holding what appears to be a Polaroid camera shows more fingers growing out of the photographer’s hand. Many of the people in the photo collection also have too many teeth in their mounts, and one was missing a fingertip on her thumb.

In the same Twitter thread, Miles even shared another set of his AI-generated photos, this time all of men. In the post’s caption, he revealed that you have to be very specific when trying to build male AI-generated figures.
“I had to be specific to get male-looking AI humans — and even then, variety is a challenge. It’s absolutely standard for whites if you ask for ‘humans,'” he wrote.

The same problem with the number of fingers also emerged in the photos of the male partygoers. In one photo, the hand of a man holding a red cup, his hand was completely detached from his body.
Miles shared the post on Friday and has since racked up more than 15,000 likes and nearly 30 million views.

“Soon the only way to know is to count the fingers. 5 and it’s real, 6 is questionable, 7 and it’s definitely AI generated,” one user wrote in the comments section. “More ways to create unrealistic body types and make women feel the pressure to conform,” said another.
A third user commented, “Well, it’s a shame that AI image generators don’t actually make art and will never be a substitute for a real person,” while a fourth jokingly added, “With all those fingers and teeth, we should be thankful these creepy people don’t exist.”
