Many users on social media said that Balenciaga is just “trolling people” right now.
Luxury fashion house Balenciaga is being trolled the internet for launching its overly worn sneakers dubbed “Paris Sneaker”. They cost a whopping $1,850 (Rs 1,42,962) and are available for pre-order.
According to the official site, the sneakers are made of completely destroyed cotton and rubber with ribbing all over the fabric. The brand logo is printed at the end of the toe and the graffiti logo in color contrast on the sole. The badly torn, worn-out shoes have gone viral after Monday’s launch, with internet users saying the brand is simply “trolling people” at the moment.

Meanwhile, according to DailyExpertNewsBalenciaga has said the sneakers’ shabby-looking aesthetic is accentuated even more in the campaign footage to suggest they’re “meant to be worn for a lifetime.” According to the brand, the new sneakers are a “retooled classic design”, finished with “distressed canvas and raw edges, which influence a worn look”. The latest collection is available in a lace-up, high-top or backless style.
