In a heartwarming show of gratitude, a bike accident survivor in Bengaluru took to Reddit to express his appreciation to the strangers who came to his rescue during a painful moment. The post, titled “Beautiful People, Beautiful City,” has received widespread attention for its moving account of the community's kindness.
User @adithya narrated the harrowing incident that took place last Thursday when his two-wheeler skidded on gravel, causing him and his pillion rider to lose control and crash. He described the aftermath of the accident and said he suffered injuries including significant skin loss on his right hand.
However, amid the chaos, the survivor highlighted the selfless acts of kindness of bystanders. He expressed his gratitude to an autorickshaw driver who not only stopped traffic to help but also transported him to the hospital so that he received prompt and free medical attention.
Moreover, @adithya acknowledged the gestures of a Swiggy delivery boy who offered water and a young man who helped with the motorcycle and assured their safety. Particularly moving was the support of an elderly bystander who offered reassurance and words of comfort and positivity throughout the ordeal.
In a show of appreciation, @adithya expressed his gratitude despite the language barrier, saying, “PS – I don't speak Kannada at all… (although this might be a relevant piece of information) Once again, thank you very much!!!” The encouraging story sparked a flood of comments from social media users, with many sharing their own experiences.

One user commented: “As someone who learned to ride a bike here, I have had the most number of falls. I don't think there has been even one time where people haven't helped. People here even suggest helping even if they cross a pedestrian bridge. with heavy luggage (the first time it happened I thought that person was going to run away with it :))”
A second Reddit user said: “This is so healthy! I was in a similar situation where a car coming from the wrong side crashed into my scooter, causing me to fall on the road. So many people came to help me get up and molars in my bag. They also shouted at the driver on my behalf because I was so stunned and didn't know what to do. I'm so grateful to them.”
