Autorickshaws are ubiquitous in Indian cities and quite popular for cheap short-distance travel. To attract passengers, motorists often decorate their tricycles with vibrant colors, funny slogans or quirky posters. One such motorist in Bengaluru is receiving praise online after converting his vehicle into a 'mini library' to provide passengers with a unique experience. The autorickshaw has a small collection of books with thought-provoking titles such as 'Why Divorce?' and “God loves you.” Passengers are cordially invited to view the philosophical and spiritual offerings, with a note reading: “Free for all, take if you like.”
A photo of this unique 'mini library on wheels' was shared by Ravilla Lokesh on his LinkedIn account after a friend pointed it out to him.
“Bangalore style! Only in Bengaluru can you find life advice and philosophical wisdom doled out for free… in an autorickshaw! While stuck in traffic, my friend stumbled upon this mini library on wheels. From “Why Divorce?” to “ God Loves You”, this car driver doubles as a life coach, counselor and spiritual guide as he navigates the chaotic roads of Bengaluru,” Mr Lokesh wrote while sharing the photo.

This innovation has received widespread recognition for combining public service with creativity, highlighting how small efforts can make a big difference in everyday life. Some also called it the 'Peak Bengaluru' moment. One user wrote, “The vibe in Bangalore is wild. Is a car driver teaching life lessons? Classic. I'd say that's the pure Bengaluru spirit. What about those random chai stalls that also serve wisdom, huh?”
Recently, another automaker from Bengaluru's innovative approach in seeking funding for his start-up made him a viral sensation. Samuel Christy, a graduate who works as a car driver, has hung a poster on the back of his seat, a poster inviting passengers to discuss his business idea with him. It read: “Hello passenger, my name is Samuel Christy. I'm a college graduate and looking to raise money for my startup business idea. If you're interested, talk to me.”
