Imagine walking through the streets of San Francisco and suddenly bumping into Google CEO Sundar Pichai. This is exactly what happened recently to a Bengaluru-based techie, whose social media post about this has gone viral online. Sid Puri, Head of Growth for Retool in India, told X (formerly Twitter) that he was walking down the street when he came across Mr Pichai and managed to take a photo with him. Mr Puri shared the image on LinkedIn and X.
In the photo, the Google chief was dressed casually in jeans, a jacket and black sunglasses. He doesn’t seem to have any security around him. However, Mr Puri confirmed in the comments section of his post that Mr Pichai was walking with a security guard who clicked their photo.
“Go to SF they said, no one prepared me to just bump into Sundar Pichai on the street,” Puri wrote while sharing the photo on the microblogging platform.

Taking to LinkedIn, Mr Puri revealed that the photo was taken last week, shortly after he landed in San Francisco, US.
The Bengaluru-based techie shared the post on Monday and it has since been viewed more than 577,000 times and liked nearly 4,000 times on .
“Wow, he’s walking without any security??? I’m a little happy because he’s so down to earth, and at the same time a little scared for his safety,” one user wrote. “Was he using Pixel 8?” another asked jokingly.

A third user commented: “So awesome that (1) you recognized him (I’m not sure I would have recognized him in sunglasses) and (2) he agreed to a photo opp! Frameworthy for sure.”
Another added: “Unreal experiences,” while one user hilariously said: “Haha, next time someone says ‘go to SF’ I’ll make sure I prepare my elevator pitch in case I’m a tech Titan!”
Sundar Pichai is the Indian-born CEO of Google and parent company Alphabet. He was born in Madurai, Tamil Nadu in 1972 and moved in 1989 to attend IIT Kharagpur to study metallurgical engineering.
