A candy company in Canada hires a professional taste tester, with a salary of up to $100,000 (more than Rs 60 lakh) per year. Candy retailer Candy Funhouse announced last month that it is looking for a “Chief Candy Officer” to lead the company’s “Candyologists”.
On Instagram, the Ontario-based company posted the job posting, saying the position is open to children as young as 5 years old. The chosen applicant is responsible for testing about 3,500 products per month, holding company board meetings and approving new candy stock with the “CCO stamp approval,” according to a press release.
Separately, according to a LinkedIn post, Candy Funhouse said candidates should have an undying enthusiasm and eagerness to enjoy confectionery, which you can safely say describes a large segment of the population. They also stated that they are looking for a bold, creative, born leader who is open to trying new things.
The position is work from home with the option to work from Toronto (if you are a resident of Canada) or Newark, USA (if you are a US resident). It’s a “serious candy business” as the CCO will be responsible for deciding what new candy products Candy Funhouse will carry, the company said.

“All you need is a passion for candy, pop culture and a sweet tooth!” read the vacancy.
The position is open to anyone aged five or over and no previous experience is required. Interested parties can apply until August 31. Once hired, the company stated that the new CCO will receive extensive taste training, in addition to other on-the-job training.
