New Delhi:
It’s quite common to see DIY craft enthusiasts refer to YouTube videos for information. But to see a doctor do the same came as a shock to many people. The act was caught on camera by a TikTok user. The video has since gone viral on social media.
The user videoed the moment her doctor looked up how to treat her cyst on YouTube. According to reports, the video has been viewed more than 5 million times on TikTok. In the video, the patient turns the camera towards the doctor, who is seen watching a YouTube video to refresh her memory.
The user who captured and uploaded the video on TikTok captioned it, “Got their MD at YouTube University.” The video appears to show the doctor refreshing her memory online.
The video received mixed reactions from social media users. Some people were shocked to see the doctor refer to a YouTube video. One user commented, “How they play with patients’ health.”
But others tried to calm everyone down, saying that doctors often have to refer to online or offline material to refresh their memory.
One YouTube user wrote: “The difference between the doctor watching the tutorial and you, me or anyone else is that the doctor understands the tutorial, you may want alternatives, clarity etc. to do something you are in trained but that you want to strengthen.Do you remember the story of the screw? Well, she knows what the screw is and where to put it and it’s not too much to revise a tutorial to get safer.
According to a report in Daily Dot, the woman who filmed the video stated that the message was posted in good faith. She said she appreciated all doctors and understood that they were not walking encyclopedias. She added that the TikTok video was a joke and said she was happy that the doctor was able to refresh her memory and help her through the whole process.
