Unfortunately, the stopover in Disneyland Paris was too short for the MEPs.
A special chartered train carrying Members of the European Parliament and their teams to Strasbourg made an unscheduled visit to Disneyland Paris due to a signaling error.
According to The BBChundreds of Members and staff of the European Parliament were on the train that left Brussels and would reach Strasbourg. But due to a signal error on Monday, they briefly encountered an unexpected view of roller coasters.
Officials on board the train were told the diversion was due to an “error in the route,” and they promptly shared their light-hearted take on the situation on social media.
German MP Daniel Freund joked on X: “We are NOT a Mickey Mouse parliament.”

Others tweeted that the error highlighted the need for EU lawmakers to simply remain in Brussels and halt regular train journeys, which take almost four hours, for their monthly four-day plenary sessions in Strasbourg, located in eastern France near the border with Germany.
“Could a new Disneyland be a suitable destination for the buildings in Strasbourg?” asked Pelle Geertsen, press assistant to a Danish parliamentarian, musing about what could happen to them if the European Parliament were to settle permanently in Brussels.
“And will this inspire a Disney movie?” he asked, suggesting a story about parliament and a train “wanting to go on holiday”.
The stopover at Disneyland Paris was unfortunately too short for the Members of the European Parliament to disembark and enjoy some of the park’s attractions.
This was reported by the French railway company SNCF AFP the train was delayed by 45 minutes because, due to a track signaling error, it missed a connecting line it was supposed to take as it approached the greater Paris region.
Ultimately it was routed back to the appropriate high-speed track for Strasbourg.
