The Persian leopards are currently an endangered species.
Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Parveen Kaswan, who regularly shares interesting wildlife facts and videos, took to X to share incredible footage of a Persian leopard family. The images were captured by a trap camera set up by Naryn T Rosen, a conservationist from Turkmenistan.
In particular, the Persian leopards, the largest of the leopard subspecies, are currently endangered species and in danger of extinction. There are fewer than a thousand adults on the planet.
”When a Persian leopard family decided to build a house for a trap camera. The best you’ll see. Credits to @NarynTR for raising awareness about them,” the video captioned.

The rare video footage showed a family of four Persian leopards resting and spending time together. The video also captured the cute voices of the leopard cubs. Internet users loved the beautiful video and posted a variety of comments.
One user wrote: ”Wow!! This is just great. Persian leopard family in nature!” Another commented: ”Best thing I’ve seen in a long time. Mothers, anywhere, from anyone. & do not forget their wisdom. It is never more than what they need. Thank you.”
A third said: ‘I’d watch every second captured! Those cubs hit the high notes.” A fourth wrote: “Cute. Just keep watching in a loop.” A fifth added: “Cuteness overload.”
Describing the role of cameras in wildlife conservation, Mr Kawan wrote: ‘Such documentation on camera traps helps in better understanding and monitoring of species. We have dozens of such documentation from our own stock. For example, the Indian leopard below had a radio collar. This is monitored for movement etc. captured by a camera trap. Using technology for conservation.”
According to WWF, a camera trap is simply a digital camera connected to an infrared sensor that can see moving objects, such as animals. They aim to obtain critical data about wildlife and their habitats, species’ locations, population sizes and how species interact with each other.
When an animal moves past the sensor, the camera is activated and an image or video is saved to the memory card for later retrieval.
