A woman from Cleveland, United States, recently called the police after claiming she received fewer pieces of chicken than she paid for. The woman called 911 and said on the phone she needed help getting “all her chicken” from fast food restaurant KFC. She told emergency services that the restaurant had only given her four pieces of chicken while she had paid for eight.
According to fox8, the woman said to the dispatcher, “I only have four pieces of chicken and I want my chicken.” The dispatcher responded by telling her, “There’s not much the police can do about it,” and tried to explain to the woman that this was only a civil matter and not a criminal one. The operator further tried to explain to her that she should contact the restaurant management and not the police. However, an officer was still sent to the scene but was unable to help the woman with her complaint.
This incident took place in the city of Cleveland, with the local police chief even issuing a statement reminding people to only call 911 if it was an emergency. He said: “While we are here to serve the public, an incorrect drive-thru warrant is not a police matter.”
The 911 emergency number in the United States of America is known to be frequently called about matters that are not serious, with authorities routinely reminding citizens to use it only in an emergency.
