The Indian Railways operates one of the largest train networks in the world. The trains often run through some of the most breathtaking scenery the country has to offer. Recently, IRAS Officer Ananth Rupanagudi shared a mesmerizing photo of a beautiful landscape of cloud-kissed hills and lush green fields.
The photo was taken along the Sengottai-Punalur line near Bhagavatipuram station, in Madurai in Tamil Nadu.

Recently, the Minister of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure of Maldives shared an image of the world’s highest railway bridge in Jammu and Kashmir. “Very impressed with the development Indian Railways are bringing to the nation,” he wrote while praising the beautiful bridge.
The Chenab Railway Bridge built 359 meters (about 109 feet) above the Chenab River in Jammu and Kashmir region is about 35 meters taller than the Eiffel Tower.
