Many people move abroad to pursue higher education or for a better job. Most of them want to improve their quality of life and standard of living. However, one woman recently took to social media and said that she is returning to India after much deliberation. The netizen, who goes by the account @Parool_12, expressed her confusion in April and asked if she should return to India. She added that it would make her “really happy and she wouldn’t miss my country all the time.” Now, almost four months later, the user took to X (formerly Twitter) and informed her followers that she is moving back to her home country after quitting her job. Her decision has sparked a debate online, with some people supporting her and others wondering why she would take such a bold decision.
“People should I just move back to India forever? Of course I won't earn as much in India but at least I will be happy, really happy and I won't miss my country all the time,” she said in April, alongside a poll. She added that she doesn't want to give up her Indian passport. “People will say I'm an idiot because I have a 5 year work visa which gives me an easy way to get British permanent residency and citizenship but at what cost lol I don't think I want to give up my Indian passport so what am I even doing here,” she wrote.
On July 30, the woman posted another update, saying that she had quit her job and that the decision to return to India would change the course of her life. “I did it. I quit my job. I am coming back to India. I took a decision that will change the course of my life and it really took a lot of courage. But I did it,” she said. The netizen said in the comments section that she “always wanted to settle in India and was far away from her family, so very unhappy.”
I did it. I quit my job.
I am coming back to India.
I made a decision that will change the course of my life, and it took a lot of courage.
But I did it. https://t.co/txviiJEZpJ— ice anti (@Parool_12) July 30, 2024

One user wrote: “A new job is possible, advancement is possible, but gaining the opportunity to acquire citizenship comes at a high cost, namely taking time out of your life and being there when you can grab it!”
Another added: “We'll see in 3 years. You'll regret your decision.”
“Stupid decision,” responded one X user.
“I might as well do the same. Better to build something here than to struggle in the UK,” commented a third.
“I'm also planning my departure, it's like the foreign country can give you everything, but the heart wants what it wants!” said someone else.
One user said: “Risky indeed! But worth it. Besides, travelling abroad can always make up for what you leave behind.”
