When applying for a job, resumes are considered one of the most important documents, providing a potential employer with a job profile of the candidate. Job seekers are often told to present their qualifications on the resume in a way that sets them apart from the rest of the applicants and helps them get to the interview stage. In one such incident, a man designed a resume in such a creative way that it attracted a lot of attention on social media.
A LinkedIn user Aditya Sharma, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of HiCounselor, sketched out a resume in a way that has been praised by many on the platform. The resume appears to be a design of Google search results with education and work experience as subheadings. The template also had search bars and links that showcased his educational background and skills. You can also see that the design was created in Google Chrome’s dark mode.
While sharing the image, he wrote: “Google is the dream company of many, but they are extremely selective. So I came up with a creative version of a Google resume with a dark theme. Do you think this resume will grab recruiters’ attention? draw?” I used Figma to create this design. Let me know your feedback.”
He shared the post on Nov. 13 and has since received more than 11,000 likes and 58 reposts. Several people commented on the unique design template.
“Aditya Sharma, I have so many people lined up looking forward to using your template. Please share it soon,” said one user.

A second added: “Your idea and this version of a resume is creative and commendable, but bearing in mind that resumes and cover letters are often printed and filed, while the dark theme is not print and paper friendly, your content will not be visible!!”
“Fantastic piece of work,” commented a third user.
Another user added: “What a creative idea! Would you mind sharing it please? It plays that ‘Did you mean’ thing perfectly. It also subtly suggests by using those page numbers that ‘There’s a lot more’ And literally EVERYONE knows where to look for what on a Google search results page! A real question though. Why did you choose a dark theme? Wouldn’t a bright theme have more impact?”
Mr. Sharma has also created resume templates for several other companies such as Amazon and Netflix.
