Washington:
A man climbed a construction crane near Washington Square Park in the US capital on Monday and undressed when a huge crowd gathered on the grounds of the park.
According to the New York Post, the unidentified man even yelled at onlookers, “Aren’t you entertained?”
“Are you not having a good time?” is Russell Crowe’s iconic line from the 2000 movie “Gladiator”.
The man was already naked when he climbed onto the condor crane next to the bow. He stood on the platform and removed his bags while yelling gibberish and threatening to jump.
The New York Post later reported that the naked man had been taken to safety and arrested at the scene, but not before hundreds gathered to watch the fiasco unfold. He came closer and closer to the edge of the stage and threatened to jump several times.
Spectators begged him to move away from the curb when police and firefighters arrived on the scene.
The first responders inflated a huge airbag that he could fall into, in case he jumped or fell. Later, they convinced the crane operator to lower the condor so that they could safely catch and stop it.
