Life is full of surprises, which are etched in our memory forever. However, some of these are unpleasant experiences that people leave behind for a long time. One such strange incident occurred in Thailand when a spiky Anabas fish jumped out of the water and into the throat of a fisherman.
When he tried to escape through his nose, the freshwater fish got stuck between the throat and nasal cavity of the hapless fisherman, New York Post† The incident took place on May 22 in Phattalung province, the report said.
Describing the incident in detail, the After went on to say that the fisherman’s oxygen supply had been cut off and he clutched his throat as the 5-inch intruder made its way down his windpipe.
The man was rushed to Phattalung Provincial Hospital, where doctors were amazed at his condition. The man told doctors he had been fishing with a harpoon underwater just before the bizarre incident.

An X-ray was taken to detect the fish’s exact location, revealing a two-inch-long spiny invader inside it. The doctors then performed emergency surgery.
“Our doctors have done everything they can to avoid damaging our patient’s organs,” said hospital officer Sermsri Pathompanichrat. “They successfully rescued the patient.”
A similar situation occurred in March this year when a needlefish stabbed a tourist in the neck while swimming in Thailand, leaving him in critical condition.
According to The Bangkok Post, Noppadol Sringam, the victim, was apparently visiting Ao Tan Khu beach when the tragic incident took place.
