Mathematics seems to be a nightmare for most students. Many social media users continue to share their school experiences on various platforms, about how they managed to overcome the difficulty of the subject. The teachers increase the pressure on the students.
It is rare for students to be loved by a math teacher during their school life. But this story is about a unique social media post that confused a math teacher and later left her in tears.
The 8th grade math teacher discovered that her students call her “goat.” She expressed her concern on Reddit and also sought help from users to decipher the “joke”.
The woman was pleasantly surprised to learn that the acronym is not demeaning, but means “greatest of all time.”
The post was shared three days ago on the social media platform Reddit on the forum No Stupid Questions. She edited the post after she knew the exact meaning, saying, “Omg I’m TEARS!!! I can’t believe they complimented me all the time!!!! Thank you all for answering this question.”
“THANK YOU ALL for your responses and the prizes this post has received!! If those prizes cost money, can you please donate that money to a charity that helps children? There are so many good ones, this one in particular is one that I personally recommend: Kids In Need Foundation.”
Since it was shared, the post has received more than 41,000 likes and more than 1,800 comments.
“It’s a compliment. Sounds like you’re a great teacher and they enjoy your lessons. That’s saying something considering math is most people’s least favorite subject,” wrote one user.
While another said, “And if you earn that math teacher nickname, you’re doing something really good.”
