His landlady wants her daughter to have a separate room.
A man sought advice from fellow X users after receiving an unusual request from his landlady. The man identified as Sachin, an MBBS student, said he lives in a 3 BHK apartment with two other housemates in the National Capital Region. Recently, his landlady contacted him and said that her daughter was preparing for her NEET exam and would be admitted to the college where he was studying. She then immediately told him that her daughter would be coming to live with them in their apartment.
''My flat owner has messaged me that her daughter is appearing for the NEET exam this year. She is not very good at studying and her physics is also very weak, so she will be admitted to our university (private). She will live with me. What should I do? Should I ask her to reduce my rent?'' Sachin posted on X.
In another tweet, he mentioned that his landlady wants her daughter to get a separate room in the same flat. ''She trusts me very much. “I wouldn't be lying if I said she trusts me more than her son,” he added.

Needless to say, his question was met with much disbelief and a majority of people saying it was a bad idea to respond to the landlady's request. Some asked him to ask the landlady to reduce the rent, while others thought a woman sharing a flat with three other boys would 'make matters worse'.
One user wrote: 'Yes, she clearly needs to cut the rent by half because if you had a roommate they would pay half, right?'
Another commented: “If you're a man and she's a woman, it just makes matters worse. The whole thing is fishy. Just don't give in. Leave the place as soon as she is admitted. ''
A third said: 'Say politely: my parents refused to share the flat with a girl.'
A fourth added: 'Her presence requires all three boys to adjust their habits and lifestyles in ways you might not have expected. And honestly, you're just one false accusation away from being fired or, worse, legal trouble. You are not responsible for her if you are not family.”
A fifth said: ''On today's episode of Bizarre!! Sachin and his two housemates live in a fully furnished 3 BHK flat in NCR. The landlady wants her daughter to stay with them (only in one of the bedrooms of course) because she is traveling there for her studies.”
Yet another added: 'So she sends her daughter to a flat with three men without thinking about her safety. In India?''
