Twitter and Meta saw one of the biggest tech layoffs this year, which the companies say was necessary due to rising costs and a weak advertising market. In the face of decades of high inflation and rapidly rising interest rates, the economic boom that increased the value of tech companies appears to have collapsed this year. Other companies such as Apple, Amazon and Alphabet have all delayed or paused hiring. According to a Bloomberg report, such accelerating and approaching levels were observed in the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In the midst of all this, there are many Indians who are stuck in the United States on H-1B visas. By existing standards, they now have a 60-day deadline and their immigration status is threatened. Finding new jobs for these laid-off workers is extremely important to maintain their immigration status.
Like a ray of sunshine for these Indians, an Indian CEO has offered to help the layoffs by the big tech companies. Dream11 co-founder Harish Jain took to these people on Twitter. Mr. Jain said in his Nov. 7 tweet, “With all the layoffs in 2022 in the US (52,000+!) hyper-growth potential in the next decade!”
With all Tech layoffs by 2022 (52,000+!) in the US, please tell us to remind Indians to come back home (especially those with visa issues) to help Indian Tech realize our hyper-growth potential in the next decade! ?? (1/3)
