Social media has given people the opportunity to highlight the achievements of those who are always diligent in carrying out their duties, without seeking any fame. Like Meerab from Lahore, Pakistan. She has worked as a rider at fast food company Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) and has been praised for juggling many roles at once. His story, posted by a Lahore resident on LinkedIn, is now going viral. It has received more than 50,000 likes and more than 1,500 comments.
Fizza Ijaz, who shared Meerab’s story, said she was thrilled when she received a call from a woman who came to her home to deliver the order.
“I got so excited to be standing outside the gate to receive her and we (my friends and I) talked to her for a good 10 minutes about many things, including her pursuits, passion and cycling skills,” said Ms. Ijaz.
According to the post, Meerab is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in fashion design and doing her night shift as a KFC rider to help cover her expenses. She plans to remain a rider for another 3 years until she graduates, after which she plans to launch her own fashion brand.
Ms. Ijaz later edited the post to add that Meerab’s fees are paid by a foundation, but that she works to support her family and pay for her mother’s medical expenses.
Users were moved by Meerab’s passion and praised her.
