Delhi and the adjacent areas woke up with an earthquake of 4.0-magnitude, making residents afraid of running out of their homes. The National Center for Seismology said that vibrations felt in North India, with Delhi as the epicenter. The depth of the earthquake was only 5 km.
The early morning earthquake led to a meme party on social media, where many users said they woke up today without an alarm.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has insisted on the inhabitants of Delhi and nearby areas to “stay calm” and to follow the safety measures.
In a post on X, the Delhi police said: “We hope that you are all safe, delhi!” It also insisted on citizens to call up the emergency situation 112 for emergencies.
Delhi is susceptible to earthquakes because it is located in a high seismic zone (zone IV) of the Seismic Zonation card of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).
