Vision in Parvati’s left eye is affected and the condition has worsened over time, according to a report in The Hindu.
State Minister of Finance Dr. P. Thiaga Rajan accompanied Mr Thongthip and his team as they investigated Parvati, the report added. The minister said they had consulted the team via video conference.
“I first noticed the problem in her left eye about six years ago. Now the right eye is also affected. We have treated her with the best doctors and medical facilities so far. We will continue to do that,” said the minister.
The minister said they have also discussed the feasibility of cataract surgery. Doctors had said it would be challenging to prevent further damage to Parvati’s eye after surgery, he added. Doctors, the minister said, had said Parvati’s condition could be genetic or from a past injury.
