Virat Kohli is regarded as an idol among cricket enthusiasts who take their love for the sport very seriously. His fans have made numerous attempts to meet him in the past – some traveling to the country where he played, while others spent hours waiting in the lobby of his hotel for the best cricketer. But, in an unusual story, a fan in Uttarakhand encountered the cricketer outside a temple when he recently went on holiday with his wife Anushka Sharma and daughter Vamika.
A video shared on Instagram by user Kapil shows how he, along with his friends, set off on a bicycle around 6am to meet the cricketer. According to the video, the group received information that Kohli visited the famous Khainchi Dham Temple on Almora road near Nainital. The super text in the video reads: “When we got there, we had no idea, we asked the locals about Virat’s visit and everyone told us different stories. Some said he is in the temple. Someone said that at 5 hours arrived, so we decided to wait until 10:00.” Finally he was able to meet Kohli after a long wait and take a selfie with Kohli. The former Indian cricket captain was also surrounded by the locals as he interacted with them. The cricketer also asked people not to click pictures or videos of his daughter resting in the car.
The video’s caption reads, “The day I met @virat.kohli @anushkasharma. 11.17.22.” Since being shared on Instagram, the clip has garnered more than 3.1 million views and garnered 4.5 million likes. A user shared a similar experience and commented, “I remember meeting virat on March 13, 2021 at Lucknow airport.. Though I bought tickets for a match but the match was canceled due to covid… I was so upset, but my father made arrangements by talking to someone at the airport authority and finally I got a chance to meet the whole team India and never forget that day.”
