A video of a woman dancing to Bollywood music in New York’s Time Square has gone viral on the internet. The woman begins to dance to Badshah’s”Tere Naal Nachnaand is soon joined by a bunch of strangers who stopped by. Since the video was posted to Instagram on April 1, the video has been liked by more than 2.2 million users.
The song is from the 2018 filmNawabzaade‘ and features Athiya Shetty. At first the passers-by giggled and tried to understand what was going on. Soon, the catchy tune of the music had them joining in with fashion blogger Puja Jaiswal, who shared the video.
Jaiswal is based in San Francisco according to her Instagram bio.
“A couple of Bollywood thumka in Times Square with strangers (cute). Heroine hoon mai wali feel lol,” she captioned the video, tagging singers Badshah and Sunanda Sharma.
Netizens responded quickly to the popular video as soon as it was shared. “Wow, this is really cool, wish I could be there too,” one user commented on Instagram. Other users also admired the video and reacted with happiness in their hearts that it was great to see the strangers dancing to Bollywood music.
Last month, Saminder Singh Dhindsa – a college student from India – danced his way into the hearts of social media users when he joined a group of people on a sidewalk in Miami, Florida.
The images were shared by Mr Dhindsa on Instagram. It showed him approaching a group of hip-hop dancers on a sidewalk in Miami. When he was encouraged to join them, he broke into an impromptu dance that drew cheers from the audience.
Other people were seen filming the scene and cheering.
